Rescue Groups

Bad Rap
Responsible for helping evaluate the dogs and with finding new homes for many of them, this Bay Area group is featured in Gorant's book.  Click here to view a PBS segment filmed about the group and the Vick rescue dogs that originally premiered on January 21, 2011.  Definitely check out their Oh Happy Day! webpage to read short before and after doggy success stories.

Pit Bull Rescue Central
This is a "virtual shelter," with resources for owners and potential adopters across the U.S.  One of the critical elements in rehabilitating the Vick dogs was the availability of reliable foster homes that could begin training the dogs and introducing them back into normal life.    PBRC has a great resource page with recommendations for anyone considering becoming a foster home.

All or Nothing Rescue
Another high profile rescue group that rehoused several Vick dogs, this Atlanta-based organization was founded by prize-winning tattoo artist Brandon Bond.  Bond also produced an award-winning film titled Vicktory to the Underdogs about the Vick saga.
